Your First Choice for Antique Rugs

If you're looking for antique rugs and carpets, contact us at J Namnoun Rug Gallery. We pride ourselves on being one of the leading Oriental rug destinations in the Northeast.

We source our antique rugs locally as well as worldwide from local families, auction houses, and from our vast rug network

What Is an "Antique" Rug?

A rug is classified as "antique” when it reaches 100 years old and they are classified as “semi-antique” when they are 50 to 100 years old.  Rugs that are 50 years old or newer can all be termed modern.

Most people are familiar with Persian rugs, however there are many countries other than Iran where hand-knotted rugs originated.  We have a fine collection of hand-made rugs that span the globe.  We've also been in the business of rug repair, cleaning, restoration, appraising, and sales for over 35 years.

Turn to Us for Classic Antique Rugs

We educate all of our customers with specific background information to the rugs they are interested in either purchasing, they own already, or looking to clean or repair.

Modern rug productions incorporate past and present design elements from antique as well as other traditional rugs  Most of the antique rugs prior to WWII were done using vegetable dyes and hand-spun wools. Rugs made after WWII generally, were made with chemical or chromium based dyes with hand-spun and machine-spun wool.

We compare the old with the new and give our clients the option to find the best product to fit their decorative, collectible, and budget requirements.

We are happy to share our knowledge and experience, feel free to call us for more details.
